Hannover Digital Investments takes a stake in talpasolutions

Hannover Digital Investments GmbH (HDInv) is investing in talpasolutions, a provider of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), analytics and intelligence solutions for industrial machines, based in Essen, Germany, as part of a Series B financing round. This is a financial investment made by HDInv in its role as venture capital investor under the umbrella of the HDI Group.

talpasolutions provides fleet management solutions for highly specialized, industrial utility vehicles in the agricultural, construction and mining sectors whose unplanned downtimes cause multi-billion-dollar losses every year. However, modern industrial machines generate up to multiple gigabytes of sensor data per day. talpasolutions’ industrial intelligence platform collects this big data. With the help of data science models, it delivers actionable insights on how to increase asset availability, optimize maintenance, and increase productivity, safety and sustainability.

“The Industrial Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence can add tremendous value to industrial customers. We are pleased to be able to participate in this development”, says Dr. Jan Myszkowski, Managing Director at Hannover Digital Investments.

talpasolutions plans to use the financing with a total amount of EUR 15 million to enhance its industrial intelligence platform and expand its footprint into construction, logistics and other industries.

The Series B financing round is led by Robert Bosch Venture Capital (RBVC) and MIG Capital. In addition to the existing German investors High-Tech Gründerfonds, Gründerfonds Ruhr, NRW.BANK, RAG Stiftung and F-LOG Ventures, Hannover Digital Investments and Prospect Mining Studio / newlab Ventures are on board as new investors.
